Public Health and Education: Creating fun, age appropriate, nutritional lessons for kids ages 7-13.
- Kids in the Kitchen(Spring and Fall)- One Saturday and one Sunday a month, kids 7-11 can participate in a hands on cooking opportunity designed to give kids experience and confidence in the kitchen. Two Masterclasses led by professionals will be held during the fall for kids 11-13 years old. By improving culinary literacy, we aim to provide kids with the foundation to make wise, nutritional decisions in the kitchen. This internship includes curriculum research, light lesson planning, experience with programming, and direct service and experience teaching kids. Each class you will come set up, lead a station prepping or cooking food that will go into the final product, and help take down afterwards. You will take the existing recipes and alter them to include more pictures (for our early learners) and healthy alternatives. Tentative schedule is 9am-12:30pm September 29th; Oct.14th; Nov. 9th, 11th, and 24th; Dec. 2nd, 9th, and 15th. Please email Jennie Merrill email@example.com with questions!
